Skype has released a new version of its VOIP software that now brings the option of HD video calling. The software will now support 1080p video and for those that have a Full HD webcam, you can talk away to your friends in high definition.
The updated software now has a group screen share that allows people to show their full screens to their contacts when in a conference call. In order to use this feature, you will need to have signed up to the Skype Premium option.
Skype 5.8 now includes the ability to video call your Facebook friends even if they are not on Skype. There is a push-to-talk feature that enables you to create hotkeys for muting your microphone. In addition, Skype has been integrated with the Bing toolbar and there is also a contact hide option for offline Facebook friends.
