The rumours for the release of the new iPad 3 have stepped up into another gear entirely as a rough date has finally been agreed on in blogging forums. The latest news is that Apple will announce the iPad 3 in the first week of March and it will begin to be sold around a week later; this news comes from AllThingsD’s John Paczkowski whose sources also tell him that the announcement will likely come from San Francisco.
These new rumours come in direct contrast to the theories put forward by The Verge earlier in the week as they have said the iPad would be released on the 29th of February as Apple tends to announce new products on a Wednesday. This means it would then have gone on sale on Friday the 9th of March as again the iPads tend to be on the shelves on a Friday.
There have been multiple pictures alongside the rumours, which have been used to illustrate the various rumours themselves. Macotakara published a picture of an LCD panel manufactured by Sharp which it claimed was for the iPad 3. More images appeared for a back cover for the device as well as other blogs questioning whether the iPad will have a quad-core processor at all. However, the posts have come together to believe that the iOS 5.1 will launch around the 9th of March, alongside the launch of the iPad 3.
