At this year’s CES 2012, a new waterproof treatment for mobile devices was showcased called HzO. The manufacturers showed audience members how it works by placing mobile phones into a fish task to see how this technology repelled water damage. The testing processing involved using a number of phones from Samsung, Motorola and the Apple iPhone.
Compared with other waterproof treatment, HzO is not only used to waterproof the outside of the phone but during the manufacture, the internal components are coated with the treatment as well.
If this waterproof treatment does what it claims, then in the future there will be no need to buy waterproof cases as this will protect the mobile phone in case it is accidentally dropped into water or from sweat damage from exercising.
