Apple iMac – The Ultimate All-in-One Experience
The best display, paired with high-performance processors, graphics and storage, wrapped up in a stunning looking, incredibly thin enclosure, all working together with an easy to use OS designed to take full advantage of the hardware capabilities – that’s what you get with the 27” Apple iMac with 5K Retina Display.
Stunning Ultrathin design
With its seamless aluminium casing and glass display, the ultrathin iMac is as beautiful to look at as it is powerful to use. A stunning, modern looking addition to any workspace the iMac represents the ultimate in technology combined with the height of engineering and cutting edge design.
Retina 5K Display – More of a Vision than a Display
The 27” iMac with 5K Retina Display is Apple’s highest resolution display ever, delivering such a stunning image everything around you seems to disappear. With 14.7 million pixels and a wider colour palette, with 25% more available colours than a standard sRGB display, you see more of the many brilliant colours you see in the real world with a level of detail that is as true to life as it can be.
Massive Performance, Striking Power
The iMac can handle anything you can throw at it. A sixth-generation Intel Core i5 processor, combined with 8GB of fast 1867MHz DDR3 RAM as standard (expandable to 32GB using the 4 user accessible SO-DIMM slots), gives you all the speed you need when multitasking and performing processor intensive tasks such as video editing and digital audio mixing. The AMD high-performance graphics card gives the 27-inch iMac with Retina 5K display up to 3.7 teraflops of graphics compute power. A 2TB Fusion Drive combines the spaciousness of a traditional hard drive with the high performance of flash storage, making everything from booting up to launching apps to importing photos is faster and more efficient.
You’re Very Well Connected
The Apple iMac packs a lot of advanced connectivity into its incredibly thin chassis. Externally you can daisy-chain up to six peripherals to each of its two ultra-fast, ultra-flexible Thunderbolt 2 ports, getting data transfer speeds up to 40 times faster than via USB 2.0 and 25 times faster than Firewire 800. Four USB 3.0 slots allow you to connect all your USB-compatible devices from your iPhone and iPad to your digital camera and printer. And if you can’t find your camera cable you can plug your memory card directly into the SDXC card slot.
Powerful 802.11ac wireless is built-in and it will automatically locate your wi-fi network, allowing you to surf the web or stream your favourite music and movies up to 3 times faster than you could on 802.11n (providing you are connected to an 802.11ac base station). Bluetooth 4.0 wireless technology is also built in, making it easy to connect accessories such as Bluetooth keyboard and mice, or Bluetooth headphones. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth also make it easy to seamlessly share your work with your other devices using Handoff or AirDrop.
Redesigned, Rechargeable Accessories
Your new iMac comes with the all new wireless Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse 2 out of the box. Completely redesigned from the ground up, both devices contain a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery that gives you about a month or more of usage and when it needs it a full charge only takes about 2 hours by simply connecting it via the included lightning cable to one of the USB ports.
iCloud – All The Content You Love on All Your Devices
iCloud connects you and all your Apple devices in amazing ways. iCloud stores your content and lets you access your music, photos, calendars, contacts and more from whatever device you’re using. And with iCloud Drive, you can safely store all your presentations, spreadsheets, PDFs, images and any other kind of document in iCloud — and access them from your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac or PC.
Mac OS X El Capitan
OS X powers everything you do on a Mac. And because Apple design both the hardware and software, OS X El Capitan is engineered to take full advantage of your MacBook Air capabilities. Designed to be as easy to use as it is beautiful to look at, it comes with an amazing collection of apps you’ll use — and love — every day.
Combined with your Multi-Touch trackpad, OS X lets you control your Mac with simple, intuitive gestures, allowing you to navigate, zoom and switch between apps with ease. Your favourite apps are easy to reach in the Dock, while Launchpad gives you quick access to everything. Finder makes it easy to browse and organise your files, with Spotlight ensuring that searching for documents and apps is effortless. It comes with amazing apps like Pages, Numbers, iPhoto, iMovie and Garageband that give you the platform you need for productivity and creativity, with thousands more great apps available for download from the App Store.
If you also own an iPhone or iPad it enables your Mac and iOS devices to work seemlessly together in ways no other computer can. You can make and receive calls on your Mac and send and receive both iMessage and SMS text messages. Start emails, documents or browsing sessions on one device and instantly pick it up on another. Plus, turn on Personal Hotspot on your iPhone from you Mac and you can get online instantly using your phone’s mobile data.
