Technology giant Box has beaten off stiff competition to be
named the best e-commerce business in the UK.
The Birmingham-based business scooped top spot in the Online
Retailer category at the 2019 PCR Awards this week.
Box went head-to-head with four of the industry's biggest
players, with the winner decided by a panel of computing and technology
experts.
Box managing director Mark Jordan today hailed the hard work
of his staff to clinch the prestigious accolade.
"We are absolutely thrilled to win this award," he said.
"When you see the names of the other finalists in this category, it really does
show how far we have come as a business.
"I'd like to thank my dedicated and hardworking team for
continuously striving to make Box.co.uk the number one destination for
technology shopping.
"2018 was a fantastic year for us - and we have already made
an excellent start to 2019. Our ambitions do not end here."
Now in their 12th year, the PCR Awards celebrate
the standout work from across the UK PC and tech sector, and the evolution of
technology and services in the last year.
The PCR Awards took place at The Brewery in London on
Wednesday evening (March 6).
Box, which has its offices and retail shop in Minworth,
sells an extensive range of technology and computing products, including
laptops, desktop PCs, phones and tablets, components, monitors and printers.
The business was founded by Mr Jordan in 1996 and today is
the UK's leading technology e-commerce business, employing over 100 people and
turning over £50 million.
