CHINESE TECH COMPANY READY TO SHAKE UP MARKET

22nd March 2019
James Reeves, Product Manager at Box, reveals new Chinese brand coming to Box.

They are the fourth-largest smartphone manufacturer in the world, but there's a fair chance you have only recently heard of them.

They are Chinese company Xiaomi - and they're ready to cause more headaches for the traditional big tech names in Europe.

And we're delighted to announce that Box will be stocking a wide range of Xiaomi products very shortly, including phones, smart watches, cameras, fitness trackers and even scooters.

Xiaomi released its first smartphone in 2011 and has enjoyed enormous success in China and India.
Now, after entering other parts of Europe, Xiaomi is bringing its wares to the UK - and there's plenty to look forward to.

Where Xiaomi stands out above the brands we are more familiar with in the UK is in its pricing and value for money.

The company has vowed to forever limit the net profit margin after tax for its entire hardware sales to a maximum of five per cent.

Xiaomi says it's in line with its chief executive Lei Jun's vision of "innovation for everyone". The end result is extraordinary value on state-of-the-art tech.

The Mi 9 is Xiaomi's flagship smartphone and boasts an incredibly fast Snapdragon™ 855 processor, offering 20 per cent faster gaming, 45 per cent improved CPU performance and a whopping 300 per cent AI performance.

The world's first 20W wireless quick charging makes it possible to reach full charge in 90 minutes and three essential lenses - wide angle, telephoto, and ultra wide-angle - makes amazing photography simple.

For those not requiring so much power, the Xiaomi Mi Redmi Note 6 Pro 32GB is an excellent option at just £192.

One of Xiaomi's mid-range options is the Pocophone F1, available in 64GB and 128GB at £270 and £292.35 respectively.

But it's more than just phones. The Mi Band 3, for example, is the next generation of the brand's highly-acclaimed fitness trackers and won't be beaten for value.

We'll also have a range of cameras, including a high-performance dash cam and a 360 degrees home security camera.

The Mi Box Android 6 TV, meanwhile, is perfect for streaming shows in stunning 4K and has won awards for its sleek design.

And we'll also be selling Xiaomi's stylish electric scooters which, with a long-range battery life of up to 30km, make commuting a breeze.

There's even a Mi Smart Kettle which can be boiled remotely from your smartphone.

We're sure Xiaomi is going to shake up the marketplace - and we're pleased to be a part of it.
